AppearanceEdit

Takamina manga

Takamina in the manga.

Takamina has long, green hair. Her hair is split into 2 sections. The front part is short and the back part is long that reaches to her mid-back, which is in a ponytail. She wears a bow in her hair, which she changes the color of depending on what she's wearing. She has green-yellow eyes. Like all members of AKB0048, She has a heart-shaped lining on her hair and eyes.

In the manga, she has long orange-blonde hair that is tied into a high ponytail and brown eyes. Like in the anime, her hair is split into 2 sections. She wears a red ribbon like her anime and AKB48 counterpart.

PersonalityEdit

Takamina seems to have a very determined take charge personality, as she demonstrates during the attack on the concert in Episode 1. In lieu of a member holding Center Position, Takamina seems to take center stage in the group as of now, as seen in advertisments on the group's home planet and the ads for the auditions. She is also the captain of AKB0048 and leads the other members in battles. In Episode 7, it is shown that she has a dislike for peppers, and possibly other spicy foods, as she complained when she heard that the lunch was green pepper steak. However, after she discovers that Kanata is to be her successor, she starts to waver and doubt herself. She begins to accept the fact until Tsubasa tells her that she is chosen as Takamina once again.

PlotEdit

PastEdit

Takamina, along with the rest of AKB0048, held a secret concert in an abandoned mine on Lancastar. The DES tried to stop them, but AKB0048 quickly defeated them before leaving Lancastar. She wields an electrically charged bow in battle, which can also be used as a boomerang to stun her opponents.

To The AuditionsEdit

4 years later, Takamina and the rest of AKB0048 appeared on a hologram card that Yuka had received, instructing them how to do the auditions.

Later, Takamina and the rest of AKB0048 came to the rescue of the auditioners when the DES took over a ship in order to search and capture the auditioners. They managed to rescue the auditioners, defeat the DES and make an escape on their ship before the DES can catch them.

She leads the attack to rescue the auditioners, and makes an appearance in Episode 3, telling the 77th Generation candidates how to use the showers. She also gives the girls a pep talk before they land on the guerilla planet.

On AkibastarEdit

Takamina makes a brief appearance at the start of Episode 5, greeting the 77th generation members and wishing them a good day.

Takamina plays a more prominent role in Episode 6, where she, along with Yukirin and Sayaka, show up to teach the trainees about the handshake events and how important it is to make a good impression, both in terms of looks and personality. She then becomes upset when Sayaka calls her and Yukirin the "Twin Towers of Bad Fashion". She next shows up in the ladies room at practice, where Orine is crying in a bathroom stall after being read by Chieri. Takamina listens to her, and informs her that she also has haters, as all the girls before her who held her name have been captains of the group. Therefore, she has a lot to live up to . Before Orine can ask her more, she bolts into the stall.

Takamina appears again at the Handshake Event, and is later shown riding her jet and tossing Orine her micsaber. She takes Orine's hater out of the arena, and as she does so she smile as she realizes that Orine has finally understood that haters can be as good as fans, as they make you grow as a member.

During Episode 7, Takamina helps to train her named successor, Kanata. It is obvious that Takamina cares for Kanata. After a day of dance practice, a curious Takamina, Yuuko, Yukirin, and Mayuyu follow Tsubasa to the shrine next to the AKB0048 stadium. There, the girls walk through a bamboo forest, and emerge on the other side to a forest of Kirara. Every girl sees the original girl that they all succeed to, except for Takamina, who sees herself, then her original predecessor, and then Kanata. A distraught Tsubasa runs up, and when confronted by the girls, reveals that Takamina is due to graduate and Kanata will soon take her place as Captain of AKB0048.

Takamina make an appereance as main character in Episode 8, which is telling about her inner-conflict about Kanata. If she doesn't graduate, Kanata will never succeed. When Tsubasa said the concert in Tundrastar is canceled, Takamina said the enemy is just small and they will take them out, so they can do concert. She said about AKB0048's real goal and Kanata response her, which Takamina became upset. DES make an attack to the ship, so senbatsu go to war-field. In battle, Takamina loses all of her concentration and is then attacked by DES. After getting back to Katyusha, she has a conversation with Yuuko. As she doesn't want to graduate, which would be destroying Kanata's dream, Yuuko said what's wrong with that, since Kanata is blaming herself for Takamina's injured.

Because of her injuries, Takamina is not allowed to perform at the Tundrastar concert and Kanata is chosen as her stand-in once again. However, she wants to perform and says to Tsubasa that she won't fool herself. At the end of the episode, Takamina said that Takahashi Minami's name will belong to Kanata. In Episode 10, she makes a small appereance because Kanata give her a home-made cookie with Takamina's face on it. Takamina thanks Kanata, which Kanata then cries out of joy. She also makes an appereance in Episode 11, where Kanata changes and prepares to perform at the AKB0048 Stage and asks Kanata if she is jealous because Nagisa is the chosen to sing Nagisa no Cherry in 00 dorm.

In Episode 12, Takamina says that she is ready to graduate after the concert on Lancastar and pass her role on to Kanata. However, in Episode 13, she quickly changes her mind when the Kirara proclaimed her as Takahashi Minami the 5th again.

Season 2 - Next StageEdit

In the Episode 20, Takamina discreetly reveals that Kanata is the successor of Takamina, but Kanata did not understand the meaning of what she was talking about.

Minami Takahashi (2015)

Minami Takahashi was born on April 8, 1991 in Tokyo, Japan. She was the first captain of Team A and is currently the general manager of AKB48. She is also a member of No Sleeves and has a solo career. She is one of the group's founding members and appears as one of the lead vocalists in almost all of AKB48's singles. This could be the reason why her AKB0048 counterpart is featured so prominetly in her performaces, even though she does not hold the title of Center Position. Some interesting facts about Minami: Her motto is "Living life as yourself without question of being bound by anything". One of her aspirations is one day to be a voice actor in anime, and her childhood heroes were the Kakurangers. She rates herself a 3 out of 10, as she does not see herself as extemely feminine or having many excellent qualities guys look for in a girl. Her most famous quote is "Hard work will definitely be rewarded".

On December 8th 2014, she announced that she will be graduating from AKB48 on the groups' 10th anniversary, December 8th 2015.
